Why I'm Running

Scott is well positioned after his years of experience to dedicate his time and effort to large issues from property tax to K-12 funding, from efficient government to private property rights, and from defending conservative values while defeating radical left-wing ideology.

Scott is running alongside Jay Fisher for Senate and Roger Brabandt for House.

Ultimately, Scott wants to complete his service leaving our state in a better situation than when first elected.

Priorities

Property Tax Relief

HB1168 Scott's bill to have the state pay the 60 K-12 mills on residential property

Scott introduced HB1168 last session which would have required the state to pay the mandated 60 mills on all residential property that is dedicated to K-12 education funding.

Scott believes the current $1,600 primary residential property tax credit must stay in place, but the state should continue buying down or buying out the 60 mills. There are issues needing to be addressed within the bill that passed last session which Scott will prepare language for in the next session.

Strong Schools

Board President Minot School Board, plus Appropriations' Education & Environment subsection

While serving on the Education and Environment subsection of Appropriations and as local school board President, Scott has the experience and understanding of the K-12 funding formula and how it impacts local school district budgets.

Scott will be introducing a funded study to create a new pool for covered employees for health insurance to relieve the stress off local school boards.

Continued Flood Protection for the Minot Area

$1.8B+ and counting on Souris River Basin protection

Scott believes bonding is necessary to complete the Souris River Basin protection plan. Residents should not have to carry flood insurance, and this project should not take over 25 years to complete.

We have exceeded $1.8 billion and counting while facing inflationary costs to complete.

Responsible Government

Protect taxpayers, control unnecessary spending, and keep North Dakota financially strong for the next generation.
